Rachel's art work spans various subject matters but most often explores the human psyche. She is interested in juxtaposing color and subject matter, like that of anxiety and mental health, which can be veiled, dark and elusive with a lighter, more buoyant palette. When possible she works from models and always seeks to capture their essence while at the same moment apprehend something that all humans can relate to. Along with the human figure Rachel seeks to document moments in time with poetic mark-making, juxtaposing caution with impulse.
